Gone down south(ish)

Friday night Micah and I were able to sneak away to visit Judy and LaVar in Norfolk (pronounced Nor-Fuk). We were worried about traffic, so we waited till about 10pm and headed down. Without traffic it only took us a little over 2 hours to get there, which was very surprising... we were expecting closer to 3! Anyway, their house is lovely of course, and I highly recommend ya'll get there to visit as soon as possible! It hovered right around the temperatures of perfect and delightful the entire time, there was a pretty constant breeze that even kept the humidity away.... which was so nice.
We spent the morning at the beach just a hop, skip, and a jump away. I've never been swimming in the ocean, but I wore my bathing suit just in case. At 9'o'clock in the morn it wasn't quite warm enough for me to get in... maybe next time...

That black speck and white blob you can kinda see in the distance.... that's Micah running the beach with Max
Who just about passed out when he got back to where we were sitting
Micah actually 'went swimming' and actually dunked his head
We (I'm going to speak for all people involved) had a great time :). Judy and LaVar treated us to brunch at a local place called 'The Ships Cabin", I had a wonderful (and quite large)crabcake sandwich. On a bit of a side story, when we went out to lunch we left Max in the spare beadroom we were staying in. I was worried he would scratch up the door so we put a box in front to keep him inside. When we came home Max was out, I figured he just jumped out... But that would've been to easy. This is what we found...
The mirror which was in the box, door, and carpet were all fine. He actually got free by pushing the box away from the wall.... not by tunneling... (p.s. I'm still Sorry!). It's actually kinda funny looking at the picture now, but I was completely embarrassed. Judy, did that stain remover work?
Later we played games, visited, and had dinner. Afterwards we went to the beach to see the sunset, seeing lots of pinks and oranges set against the ocean was great. There was alot of stuff going on even that late in the evening a herd of crabs climbing in and out of their holes (ok maybe not a herd, but quite a few), fish actually jumping out of the water, people fishing on the breakers one yelled out 'Ey Ey EY! when (we think) he caught a fish. When we finally couldn't stand the mosquitos anymore we headed for home.
We left early the next morning and made the long trek back home. With a quick trip through Williamsburg, just for interest sake of course.
I really hope we can get back soon! Thanks Judy and LaVar!
